Francisco Javier Rodríguez Vílchez, simply Francisco (born 17 June 1978 in Almería, Andalusia), is a retired Spanish footballer who played as a striker.
After starting out with local outfit Polideportivo Almería, Francisco joined Valencia CF, never making it however past its B team.
In 2002, he returned to Almería, joining Unión Deportiva, then in the second division, and scoring at an impressive rate. In 2004–05, as his link expired, Francisco seized the opportunity to make his La Liga debuts and signed with Albacete Balompié: the season was a disaster, with relegation for the club and only three goals for the player (he netted against Real Madrid, albeit in a 1–6 away loss).
Subsequently, Francisco returned to his previous club, and was fairly used by the Andalusians as they achieved a first-ever promotion to the first division, in 2007, but would never play in the top flight again, resuming (with little individual and team success) his career in the second and third levels. In 2010, he started his manager career, coaching teams in various categories at his main club Almería.
